Along Main Street drainage & utility works have now been completed. This allows the final phase of permanent traffic signals to be installed. The new traffic signals will go into operation to the entire 5-Arm Junction before the end of July.

Surfacing is currently being completed on Main Street (for Blanchardstown Village) and 5-Arm Junction during night hours.

*** Project Update – Bridge Traffic ***

As part of the completion of the N3 Snugborough Interchange Upgrade in Blanchardstown, both bridges are fully open to vehicular  traffic.

Please note that on completion of permanent signals to the 5-Arm Junction all footpaths will immediately open to pedestrians.

** Project Update – Tolka Valley Paths **

Due to the complexity of the underground services and the requirement to replace a watermain, the completion of the active travel corridors through the underpasses will form the last element of the works scheduled to be completed in September 2024.

* Project Update – Waterville Road/N3 On-Ramp Traffic Signals & Surfacing*

Please note that this section of works is now complete and open to traffic in its permanent configuration.

Scheme Overview

BAM Civil Ltd. are delighted to have been appointed by Fingal County Council, with co-funding from the National Transport Authority, to undertake the Snugborough Interchange Upgrade Scheme, a complex undertaking but with the goal of introducing significant improvements to the area for pedestrians, cyclists, public transport users and motorists.

This Project includes the construction of a second bridge over the N3 adjacent to the existing Snugborough Road, with new pedestrian and cyclist facilities being provided throughout, along with bus priority measures and additional lanes for turning movements.

The Snugborough Interchange is currently programmed to be completed above road level in late March.  This will facilitate traffic across the new bridge including cars, bicycles and pedestrians. The work on completing the underpasses will be the last element of the works and will be completed during April.

Substantial traffic management will be required on the Snugborough Road, Waterville Road and surrounding road networks as works progress on site. Every effort will be made to minimise the disruption throughout the works.
